Construction and demolition waste (C&D waste)
Council accepts small householder - vehicle sized loads of construction and demolition waste at all sites except Amamoor Waste Managment Facility.
Large loads (eg. light trucks, skip bins and other trucks) are accepted at Bonnick Road Waste Management Facility, Gympie only.
Disposal of unusually large quantities of construction and demolition waste such as demolished buildings requires prior notice to Council. Contact us to ascertain if your C&D waste can be accepted.
Disposal of asbestos-containing material (ACM) is by prior appointment only at Bonnick Road Waste Management Facility, Gympie. Charges apply. See Asbestos for further information about disposal of ACM.
Concrete and bricks
Council will not accept:
- Large quantities of concrete or bricks
- Concrete or similar blocks in dimensions larger than 500mm
- Concrete or similar blocks with posts or other objects protruding
Alternative disposal methods should be sought.
Council is aware of one local concrete crushing business operating in Gympie. Disposal of concrete at Gympie Landscaping Supplies is by prior/private arrangement only and charges apply. Contact Gympie Landscaping Supplies on (07) 5482 8161.
Separated timber must be placed on the designated timber waste stockpile.
- Maximum diameter 500mm.
- Maximum length 4m.
Timber must be contaminant free as it will be shredded for beneficial reuse. No laminated or 2-pac timber products, gyprock or fibre cement sheeting.
Whole timber items may be salvaged for resale by on-site recyclers.
