Community training

Community groups and clubs have a wide range of legal, financial and operational responsibilities. Gympie Regional Council provides free or heavily subsidised training to help community organisations meet these growing expectations.

By attending training, committee members, volunteers and staff can gain new skills so they can better serve their members and the wider community and ensure the longevity of their organisation.

Council encourages community, sport and recreation organisations to attend our training workshops held throughout the year.

Our upcoming workshops

Council is partnering with Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing to host these free workshops for all not-for-profit sport, recreation clubs and community groups in the Gympie region.

Technology Made Simple, Pie Creek

Thursday 22 March 2018

6.00pm - 8.30pm

This workshop provides practical ‘how to’ advice, inspiring stories and case studies that demystify the world of technology. Topics include new ways of cost effective communicating, easy website and social media tools, and online help sources. The workshop is about making technology as simple and stress free as possible by providing clear answers to overcoming technology-related challenges.

Succession Planning, Gympie

Thursday 7 June 2018

6.00pm - 9.00pm

A succession plan will help prepare your club for expansion, the loss of volunteers or filling vacant committee positions. Succession planning helps in matching the right person to a position and makes sure that when new staff or volunteers commence they have all the information they need to do the job.
