Get Local Community Grants – Round 2, 2021/2022

This program aims to:

•    increase community connection
•    sense of belonging 
•    community wellbeing.

Round 2, 2021/22 of the Get Local Community Grants Program is specifically designed to assist communities and townships impacted by COVID-19 and dealing with drought and disaster, such as recent flood events.

Get Local Grants to support small-scale community events across the Gympie region.

Events must be delivered between 1 June – 31 December 2022. 

Funding Allocated

A total of $15,000 for 2021/2022.

The maximum grant amount per applicant is $800.

This program is an initiative funded by the Queensland Government, Mental Health and Wellbeing Community Package under Queensland's Economic Recovery Strategy.

Successful applications for Round 2 – 2021/2022

5 projects received a total of $3,950 for Round 2.

Community Development Grants Program

Provides financial assistance to eligible community organisations to deliver projects which:

•    respond to community need
•    support council’s strategic objectives
•    enhance the social and community development of the region.

Funding Allocated

A total of $185,000 for 2021/2022.

•    Facilities development
•    Halls insurance (Round 1 only)

Key dates for 2021/2022

Flooding has impacted the capacity of both council staffing and volunteer community organisations.

Round 2 of Gympie Regional council’s Community Grants was due to close this Friday 4 March. Council has extended the closing date to 5.00pm Monday 14 March to allow staff and volunteer organisations more time in the application stage.

Grant Reporting requirements

Grant recipients must submit an online Acquittal Report no more than four (4) weeks after the completion date of the project. Grant recipients must attach copies of tax invoices to demonstrate that the grant funds have been used in accordance with the funding agreement.   

Successful applications for Round 2 – 2021/2022

22 projects across the four grant categories received a total of $108,277 for Round 2.
