Community Development Grants Program

Provides financial assistance to eligible community organisations to deliver projects which:

•    respond to community need
•    support Council’ strategic objectives
•    enhance the social and community development of the region.

Funding Allocated

A total of $185,000 for 2021/2022.

How to apply

  • Download and read the Community Development Grants Program Guidelines 2021/22. 
  • Speak with Council’s Community Development Team prior to submitting your application. Please phone: 1300 307 800 or email grantsadmin@gympie.qld.gov.au.
  • Attend a Grants Information Session for Round 2 in February 2022.  
  • Submit your application online via the Smarty Grants Portal when the grant round opens.
  • No late or incomplete applications will be accepted.

Grant Reporting requirements

Grant recipients must submit an online Acquittal Report no more than four (4) weeks after the completion date of the project.  Grant recipients must attach copies of tax invoices to demonstrate that the grant funds have been used in accordance with the funding agreement.   

Successful applications for Round 1 – 2021/2022

24 projects across the four grant categories received a total of $78,077 for Round 1.

Get Local Grants - Now Closed

This program aims to:

•    increase community connection
•    sense of belonging 
•    community wellbeing

Get Local Grants support small-scale community events across the Gympie region.
Events must be delivered between 16 March – 13 April 2022. 
This grants program supports the aims of Neighbour Day.

Funding Allocated

A total of $12,800 in 2021/2022.
The maximum grant amount per applicant is $800.

This program is fully funded through a grant recieved from the Localised Mental Health Initiatives Program (COVID19 Recovery) funded by the Queensland Government.
