2019 Australia Day Awards

This is your opportunity to shine the spotlight on the Gympie region's achievers; people who have contributed to our region's culture, excelled in sport or made positive contributions to our community.

You can nominate yourself or someone you know in one of more of the following categories:


Citizen of the Year 
Open to all Gympie region residents who have made a noteworthy contribution during the current year and/or given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years. 

Young Citizen of the Year
Open to all Gympie region residents aged between 14 and 25 years of age who have made a noteworthy contribution during the current year and/or given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years. 

Cultural Award
Open to all Gympie region residents who have made a noteworthy contribution to the cultural life of the local community or an outstanding achievement in cultural activity.

Youth Cultural Award
Open to all Gympie region residents aged between 14 and 25 years of age who have made a noteworthy contribution to the cultural life of the local community or an outstanding achievement in cultural activity.

Sports Administration Award 
Open to all people who have made an outstanding contribution as a duly appointed Coach, Official, or Administrator; a "behind the scenes" organiser or promoter who has put a great deal of time and effort into a Gympie region sports team, activity or facility. 

Sports Award
Open to all Gympie region residents who have made a noteworthy record of achievement in sport.


Youth Sports Award
Open to all Gympie region residents aged between 14 and 25 years of age who have made a noteworthy record of achievement in sport.

Community Event of the Year
Presented to the person of group who has stage the most outstanding community event during 2018.
