Gympie Regional Council is now entering its second term since amalgamation. With the initial challenges presented by amalgamation behind us, this term of Council will be one of consolidation and opportunity.
However, significant challenges facing our Region remain - if we are to balance lifestyle and growth. It is essential that in an area that is one of the most vibrant and fastest growing areas of Australia, that this balance is achieved. Gympie Regional Council seeks to continually improve the infrastructure of the Region, balancing the many needs of the community, the requirement to increase work and education opportunities while preserving our cultural heritage and regional perspective. Considerable effort has gone into developing an effective Council workforce with a culture of continuous improvement and my thanks goes to all staff for the effort they have invested in our future. The elected representatives and staff of the Gympie Regional Council are striving to serve the community in a professional, financially responsible and accountable manner and your constructive input into this is always appreciated.
