Services are rendered in most areas of the region. Bins are serviced at the kerbside. Refuse bins are serviced weekly and for those properties supplied with recycle bins, recycle bins are serviced fortnightly. Residents who are physically unable to place the bin/s out for servicing should contact the Health & Environmental Services Unit in Community Services.

Waste generated outside of the region will not be accepted at any of Council’s facilities.
No BULK quantities of tyres or greenwaste (from land clearing/developments) will be accepted at any facility.

Items which may be placed in the recycling bins include newspaper, cardboard, aluminum, aerosols, steel (tin) and glass containers and all rigid plastic containers. Residents who do not receive a 240 litre wheeled bin service may deposit these items in the recycling facility at the Bonnick Road Waste Management Facility at Gympie, and the Mary Valley Transfer Station at Imbil.

A greenwaste shredding program is operated at the Bonnick Road, Southside, Tin Can Bay and Rainbow Beach Waste Management Facilities. Please ensure that green waste is not contaminated with other wastes as contaminants reduce the usefulness of the shredded product. It is preferred that green waste be composted or shredded on your own property rather than disposed of at a Waste Management Facility.
